Dobermann

The Dobermann — Doberman Pinscher in North America — is a German pinscher-type working breed, developed around 1890 in Thuringia by Louis Dobermann, a tax collector who wanted a capable guard at his side. Sleek and athletic, it was bred for alertness and drive.

The measured build is on this page. The traditional cropped ears and docked tail are now illegal in many countries, and temperament in a working guard breed rests on the individual dog and its raising.
