Gull Terr

The Gull Terr is a Pakistani bull-and-terrier type, descended from the fighting and baiting dogs brought to the subcontinent under British rule.

History

It developed in the Punjab from imported bull terrier stock crossed with local dogs, and is kept as a guarding and hunting dog. Like the Bully Kutta and the Gull Dong it is also used in illegal dog fighting, which is the main reason its temperament varies as widely as it does between lines.

Temperament

The breed is known for being agile, determined and closely attached to its handler, with a high drive and little patience for strange dogs.

Care and training

It needs substantial exercise, secure boundaries, thorough socialising and an experienced, consistent owner.
