Ca Mè Mallorquí

The Ca Mè Mallorquí is the pointing dog of Mallorca — a Balearic gun dog kept by island hunters and little known beyond them.

History

It developed on Mallorca alongside the island's other native dogs, worked on partridge and small game across terraced and stony ground. Recognition is Balearic and Spanish rather than international, and the population is concentrated on the island itself.

Temperament

The breed is known for being steady, willing and companionable, closer to its handler than many pointing breeds and easy in a household.
