Langqing
The Langqing is a Chinese hunting dog from the south-west, kept for boar in forested mountain country.
History
It is one of several regional Chinese hunting types documented only recently outside the country, maintained by rural households rather than any registry. The record is thin enough that most of what can be said honestly is where it comes from and what it is used for.
Temperament
Accounts describe an alert, driven hunting dog, bonded to its handler and reserved with strangers.
Care and training
It needs substantial exercise and secure boundaries, and an outlet for the hunting drive. The coat is easy.
Health
Nothing is documented as breed-specific; the population is small and unrecorded. These are patterns for the landrace rather than a forecast for one dog; the measured facts are in the panel.
