Grand Anglo-Français Blanc Et Noir

The Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Noir is a large French pack hound bred explicitly as a cross, and named for it.

History

Where the Chiens Français absorbed their English blood and became French breeds, the Anglo-Français hounds keep the cross in their name: they are deliberate and continuing crosses of French hounds with English Foxhounds, maintained as such. This one, the white-and-black, is used on deer and boar in packs of thirty or more.

Temperament

The breed is known for being balanced, sociable and enormously enduring, bred to work in large packs and to get on with dogs and handlers alike.

Care and training

It needs a very great deal of exercise and is bred for pack life rather than a household. The short coat is easy.

Health
